We strongly believe in actively supporting the community.
Making a meaningful difference
We partner with a range of philanthropic, artistic and corporate organisations we believe enrich the community. Milford proudly partners with:
0800 What’s Up is New Zealand’s most accessed telephone counselling service for 5 to 18 year olds. Call demand continues to exceed their capacity, which means over 60% of calls go unanswered, so thousands of children go without the support they need. Milford’s support of What’s Up means many calls that would otherwise go unanswered are responded to, which helps more children across New Zealand.
Graeme Dingle Foundation
The Graeme Dingle Foundation delivers highly effective school-based programmes, which equip young people with the skills to build resilience and self-belief and help them overcome any obstacle – ultimately making Aotearoa a fairer and better place for everyone. Milford helps support Kiwi Can, a life skills and values programme aimed at children aged 5 to 12. School Principals say that Kiwi Can has a noticeable effect on how well the children interact with each other – with significant decreases in truancy and bullying.
The Blind Foundation provides practical and emotional support for Kiwis who are blind or have low vision, enabling them to face their future with confidence. Many people who lose their sight say reading a book is one of the things they miss the most, and the Blind Foundation Library service is a lifeline for these Kiwis. Milford are proud to support the Blind Foundation Library and help give the gift of reading to people with sight loss.
MoneyTime is the most advanced financial literacy programme available to primary schools in New Zealand. With 30 online lessons and automatically marked quizzes, it covers the full spectrum of financial literacy. Utilising self-directed learning and gamification, it incorporates two of the hottest trends in education. Milford’s support of this programme is helping MoneyTime create a whole generation of financially confident New Zealanders.
Special Children’s Christmas Party
Milford is a Platinum Sponsor of the Special Children’s Christmas Party (Auckland), the biggest event of its kind in New Zealand for special needs children and their families. The children who are invited suffer from either a life-threatening illness, physical and intellectual impairment, domestic violence, or live in underprivileged circumstances. Milford’s sponsorship helps these children along with their families experience the Christmas they deserve.
Silo is one of New Zealand’s leading producers of contemporary theatre. They create bold work showcasing their energetic and uncompromising vision. Silo delivers cutting-edge, next-generation storytelling from New Zealand and around the world. Milford believes in supporting passionate and talented individuals and through our sponsorship we help Silo continue to deliver top-quality theatre.
